Boro Stitching Workshop

  • SEEDs for Autism 3420 S 7th St Phoenix, AZ, 85040 (map)

At SEEDs for Autism, our ongoing series of workshops provide new opportunities to empower our participants and encourage them to GROW! These talented young adults gain confidence as they share their skills with others, engage with the community and assist our staff during these creative and inspiring events.

Boro stitching is a Japanese form of needlework traditionally used to repair fabrics. In sewing, most stitches are not meant to be seen, but in boro stitching, the stitch is an important part of the design. Come try your hand in our November workshop. We’ll arrange a variety of fabric scraps on a backing fabric and stitch in place with a simple running stitch. No sewing experience necessary; all materials will be provided. Once you’re invested, you’ll find many applications to use the method from decorating clothing (whether it needs patching or not), pillows, bags, wall art and more.

Boro Stitching is 3 hour Workshop
