At SEEDs for Autism, our ongoing series of workshops provide new opportunities to empower our participants and encourage them to GROW! These talented young adults gain confidence as they share their skills with others, engage with the community and assist our staff during these creative and inspiring events.

LEAF IMPRESSION PAINTING WORKSHOP

Join us at SEEDs for Autism, get creative and unleash your inner artist!

Using cutouts, stamps and paint, learn how to create your own masterpiece celebrating the beauty of leaves! Each workshop participant will take home two unique paintings! (One on canvas board and one on stretched canvas) Perfect for gift-giving!

Please Note: The Leaf Impression Painting Workshop is 2 1/2 hours long so be sure to bring a snack! Also, workshop attendees will be working with acrylic paint - aprons will be provided, but creating art can get messy! Be sure to dress appropriately.

This Saturday workshop is open to youth and adults on the autism spectrum ages 14 and up.

At SEEDs for Autism, we are happy to provide organized recreational activities in a structured, supportive environment where participants can engage with their peers, cultivate new experiences and have FUN!

For those on the autism spectrum, this 3 ½ hour workshop provides a unique opportunity to express themselves creatively and explore their talents while practicing social skills. Sharing this popular area of interest with peers creates a positive, encouraging environment of connection and friendship.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Participants will learn elements of visual storytelling and develop communication skills as they rotate through this exciting 3 part workshop! Our team of artists and experienced professionals are excited to help you explore your talents and discover new ones!

Comics

Participants will explore the world of comics and learn about visual storytelling and communication while engaging in interactive creative exercises with their peers. Flex your imagination, create your own comic and learn to tell stories panel by panel!

Pop-Art Painting

Painting relieves stress, enhances our ability to concentrate and helps develop fine motor skills.  Create iconic comic book art using paint, canvas and your imagination! Our instructors will guide you step by step as you turn words into art using color to express emotion!

Stop-Motion Animation:

Technology offers new methods of sharing ideas, telling stories and communicating with others. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes journey into the exciting world of stop-motion animation and utilize a variety computer skills, lighting and equipment to animate LEGOS in this high tech adventure!

Block-printing develops coordination and encourages attention to detail with beautiful results! Carve your own design and translate your artistic vision into a set of 5 cards with envelopes! Enjoy creating a beautifully colored silk scarf utilizing an exciting new dyeing technique using Spectra tissue paper! Make a unique one-of-a-kind gift for friends or family this holiday season - or keep it for yourself. A spectacular accent piece for any wardrobe! All supplies included. Although the process is not too messy, we recommend that you wear clothing you don’t mind getting a spot of color on - just in case. Brunch included with the event.
